We are one month into 2017 and it is time to get back on the horse and begin working on some home projects in the queue. Here are the projects I am hoping to tackle in February:
1.) I need to start to make a dent in painting trim around the house. If I am feeling really crazy (which I probably won't), maybe I will even paint a ceiling or two. These two tasks may be my least favorite projects, but they really do make such a difference.
Check out the difference when we painted the baseboards in the utility room.
MID-RENOVATION - PAINTED WALLS
AFTER - PAINTED TRIM AND WOOD FLOORS
2.) I want to begin sprucing up our half bathroom off of the rock room/family room. I want to challenge myself to do this on a budget so the goal is to spend less than $200, we will see if I can stay within that budget! Here is what I am thinking in terms of updates:
Remove chair rail
New light fixture
Paint existing mirror and reuse
Update vanity top? - I am struggling with this, the current top is pretty outdated and complete with the shell indentation for soap
Replace towel holder & toilet paper roll
This bathroom continued the accent wall theme and opted for a light green paint instead of wallpaper on the final wall. The brass fixtures, the honey wood & 80's counter top really date this bathroom.
Swirly sea shell countertop.
Here is a shot of the bathroom from the entryway.
I will keep you posted on my progress throughout the month. Until then, check out my pinterest page where I will be finding design inspiration!
Thanks for checking in!
