Today I am talking about the importance of staging your home and hiring a professional photographer when selling your house. I recently interviewed Mary Wyar, with Toledo Home Tours, and she provided her expertise and insight into the benefits of hiring a professional photographer.
I have been intrigued by Airbnb for some time now and would love to become a host in the near future. For me, I prefer Airbnb’s to hotels whenever possible. They are often more affordable for the amenities you receive and it gives you a sense of community and culture that is often missing when you book with a hotel chain..
Luckily for me, I have a few friends who are well versed on the subject and were happy to share their wealth of knowledge! I interviewed two super hosts and have compiled each couples 5 key tips when starting your airbnb business.
I am excited to share this fun wallpaper project with you and the best part is that it took less than 3 hours to install! I LOVE a good DIY project, especially when it can be completed in one night!
For this project, I teamed up with Tempaper Designs to install removable wallpaper to the stair treads of an old Victorian home in the Old West End of Toledo. If you are totally into this removable wallpaper trend right now like me, I highly recommend this product. They have so many design options and the installation was a piece of cake.
Each room is filled with unexpected artwork accents, bright colors and plant displays that bring life into the space. These old homes are filled with formal trimmings that can often leave the a room feeling cold and museum-like but their cool, eclectic style makes every room feel inviting and modern.
Today am excited to share with you the beautiful home of Debbie Jacoby. Along with being my fun and sassy aunt, Debbie is also an interior decorator with tons of amazing tips on how to decorate and stage your home.
When Jamie and Kyle first saw this house online, they knew it had potential. The real estate market in Fort Collin's is really hot, so they knew they had to move fast. Kyle quickly booked a trip to check out the house and they decided to make an offer before it was snatched up by other buyers.
When I asked Jamie what the biggest challenge had been so far, she said it was actually seeing the house for the first time. Jamie had only seen it pictures, so walking into the house and realizing the scope of projects they had to complete; she was totally overwhelmed. Once she wrapped her head around all of the projects, they started to tackle the exterior renovations.
Sarah is a small business owner (Sarah Renee Photography) and also a crafty DIYer who transformed her basement into a fabulous photography studio. Sarah was the first neighbor I met when we moved into the Neighborhood House and we have been close ever since!
I am so excited to post this first Friendly Feature on my brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Shannon! Jon and Shannon bought their first home together almost two years ago and have been working their buns off in the house ever since to bring it back to its glory when it was built in 1929.
