THE NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE
Experts say that when you go to sell your home, think back to when you first toured your house prior to purchasing it. What did you not like about it or what quirks were distracting from the other amazing features?
Happy #tbt! I am so excited to show you our back deck renovation at the Neighborhood House. This is by far one of my favorite renovations we have done and one that I am most proud of.
Last week I showed you the first projects of the backyard which were the swingset and the fence. The following spring we decided to get started on the deck. Chris did an awesome job on the deck at our last house, the Ivy House, so I let him draw up the plans for this deck too.
Happy #tbt! This post will be a two part series where I will first show you our swingset installation/new fence and then next week will show you the fabulous deck we built.
Because I don't have super clear photos of the full layout of the backyard, I made some quick drawings to illustrate what we had in the backyard before renovations and our ideas for the updates.
I had this vision of beautiful built-ins at the back of the room with shelving on both sides of the TV to display photos, books, etc. I relayed my vision to my husband and although he wasn't thrilled with the project I had added to our weekend activities, he came up with some great ideas to help complete my built in plans.
Happy #tbt! When we first moved into this house I was convinced it was my forever home. We quickly became close friends with many of our neighbors and fell in love with the neighborhood. The name of this house came from the name my son called the nursing home directly across the street, the neighborhood house.
