1 | Flocked Christmas Tree in Historic Home
We have already established that red and gold are classic Christmas colors that look great in traditional style homes and this tree is the perfect example. This beautiful tree is displayed in my aunt and uncles large foyer of their historic home from the early 1900s. The warmth of the red and gold Christmas decor compliments that warmth in the wood detailing througout the room.
This artificial Christmas tree was found on FB marketplace and I helped my aunt flock the tree branches to create the look of thick snow on the branches.
2 | Deep Red and Gold Christmas Tree
Who knew a Christmas tree looked so good in front of a rich, red wall! The green in the tree really pops in front of this red wall. The red and gold ornaments all have different textures and that creates a lot of depth and interest ont his pretty little tree. Love!
3 | Traditional Christmas Tree
I am always inspired by my in-law’s beautiful Christmas tree and have used many of their decorating tricks in my own home. If you are buying a real tree, a Frasier fir is our preferred tree to hang lots of ornaments. The branches are sturdy and the tree doesn’t drop as many needles as other. The second tip is to add a mix of string lights, both warm white and colored lights. Adding enough lights is the key to a magical, glowing Christmas tree.
4 | Vintage Tinsel Tree
Ok, I know this is not red or gold, but I am so inspired by this beautiful Christmas tree by Sean Anderson! Tinsel has been used for years and it always feels classic and traditional when used on a Christmas tree. Add a few red accents around this tree and it would feel even more festive!
5 | Stately Red and Gold Christmas Tree
Clipping candles to a Christmas tree is another classic and traditional look that never goes out of style. It is so simple and I love how the deep burgundy ribbon matches the roping of the chandelier.
6 | French Provincial Red and Gold Christmas Tree
Another simple and traditional Christmas tree with red candles clipped to its branches. The red candlestick and warm, golden glow of the candle create a cozy mood in this large room. I am definitely biased towards any Christmas tree set up in a European cottage or old estate. There is something so romantic about Christmas in a beautiful old home or in a tiny cottage on the countryside.
7 | Christmas Tree with Red & Gold Branches
Adding decorative branches or twigs to your Christmas tree always brings it up a level. This tree has red and gold twigs or decorative branches stuck throughout the tree an dit looks really nice with the warm lights and primarily red and gold bulbs. I thought this was a really classic and lovely tree when it came up in my Instagram feed.
8 | Fairytale Christmas Tree and Decor
I can always find inspiration via House and Garden UK. This Christmas tree decorated outside the home of Amanda Brooks stopped me in my tracks. The little red mushrooms (similar) are so sweet and it is such a fun element of surprise!
I have saved this image probably a dozen times because it is so inviting! The subtle green trimmings with red pomegranates hanging around the mantle and the warm glow and candles reflecting in the gold-framed mirror gives me all the feels! If you don’t want to curl up on that couch and read a book right now, you may just be dead.
9 | Glowing Gold Christmas Tree
Sometimes all a Christmas tree needs are the lights. It may take days to wrap each tree branch with string lights and individually hang strands of tinsel, but it is worth it. for that view. The red tree skirt and red and green wrapping paper complete the look of this tree!
10 | Masculine Christmas Decor Fireplace Mantle
This mantle decorated for Christmas proves that red and gold decor can look subtle. The bulbs are more of a copper/brown color, but I believe you can achieve a similar look with a really rich red bulb too. The gold reindeer above the fireplace is the perfect focal point for this Christmas mantle display.
11 | Eclectic Red and Gold Christmas tree
This beautiful Christmas tree is filled with red and gold Christmas decor that looks really classy. The Christmas tree includes patterned and velvet ribbon, red and gold ornaments, gold flowers and glittery branches throughout the tree.
12 | Plaid Placesettings with Gold Chargers
For dinner parties, a red tablecloth(similar) and gold chargers (similar) immediately create that Christmas-time vibe. Plaid patterns (similar) and holiday china patterns are other great ways to tie in red and gold decor during the Christmas season.
The Christmas season is a great excuse to dust off all of your fancy tableware and set your table! I DIY’ed the napkin ring in the image below using family heirloom pins/brooches for a festive and sentimental touch.
13 | Fat and Festive Christmas Tree
When I saw this tree on Instagram, it reminded me so much of the tree in the movie, White Christmas! The thin ribbon creates the look of tinsel and looks fabulous with the collected ornaments around the tree.
14 | Whimsical Christmas Tree
This whimsical Christmas tree is so much fun! I love the variation of red peppered throughout the tree with the garland, ornaments, bows and star.
16 | Traditional Staircase Christmas Decor
Another great place to add red and gold Christmas decor is on your staircase. Below you can see the garland I draped on our staircase using cheap garland, faux flowers and red ribbon. Adding in more gold florals would instantly create that festive red and gold Christmas style.
15 | Fun Red and Gold Christmas Mantle
Another beautiful Christmas mantle filled with red and gold ornaments, greenery and festive ribbon.
I hope these beautifully decorated homes inspire you to get in the Christmas spirit and add some Christmas cheer to your own home!
